WOLVES LOOKING TO SIGN FORMER CHELSEA STRIKER COSTA
Former Chelsea striker Diego Costa could be set to make a return to the English Premier League, with reports claiming that Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in signing the forward. The former Spain international striker is now a free agent after leaving Spanish La Liga title winners Atletico Madrid following the expiration of his contract this summer. Before his contract expired, he fell down the pecking order at the club as manager Diego Someone no longer saw him as an integral member of the team.
However, he is said to still be one of the top strikers that are currently available to make a free transfer and that's why Wolves have shown their interest. Costa spent a couple of months at Chelsea and helped the Blues to a Premier League title under manager Antonio Conte but how he was pushed out of the club by the same Conte is something he will not be forgetting in a hurry.
As a free agent, several clubs have already started opening talks with him over a potential transfer but he has not found a suitable offer for him yet and has continued to search for the ideal club to join in the summer. Wolves are not the only side that want to acquire his services and they face competition from some clubs outside Europe, including some teams in the Australian football league. He has recently received offers from some unnamed Australian clubs but could be tempted by the latest offer on his table from Wolves.
The allure of returning to England could be a key factor that could help him reach a decision of playing in England again and if everything goes as planned, he could be unveiled as a new Wolves player in the coming weeks.
