Tim Cahill is no longer a player of Shanghai Shenhua
The 36 year old Tim Cahill terminated his contract with the Chinese outfit Shanghai Shenhua but according to his agent, Ante Alilovic, the veteran player is still going to continue performing in Asia as there are a number of Chinese clubs that are interested in signing him and deals are being launched for Cahill who somehow still manages to perform even at his elevated age.
"He will stay in China. I'm in Asia now and will be with him in two days to discuss potential deals and there are a few interested clubs," Alilovic said.
Tim Cahill started to lose his influence in Shanghai Shenhua after Obafemi Martins arrived to the club and the Australian player was eventually discarded from all the plans of the coach Gregorio Manzano.
If what the representative of Tim Cahill is saying is indeed true and there are a number of Chinese clubs that have showed interest in signing the veteran player, then there is a big possibility that Cahill will be joining an Asian club within the next few weeks or even days as the transfer window of that country is still open and they can secure the services of Cahill very soon but this will depend on whether or not the offer that is launched is tempting enough.
The Chinese Super League has recently been increasing their expenditures and have signed more top notch players, some of these performers are: Jackson Martinez, Alex Teixera and Jiangsu Suning. The combined total of all these entire signing rises to around £100m and its likely that Tim Cahill will be joining that list.
Cahill is eager on getting back to the pitch and would like to do it as soon as possible and joining another Chinese club is the fastest way that he will be able to get back playing.
