Australia’s all-time goalscorer Tim Cahill may enjoy the final stages of his professional career in the subcontinent after making the switch Indian Super League side Jamshedpur.

The former Everton and Millwall star revealed the agreement via his official Twitter account and he is now expected to link up with the team for their pre-season tour in Madrid.
He tweeted: “I'm excited to announce that I'm signing for Jamshedpur FC in the Indian Super League. I’ve been really impressed in my conversations with the club by their professionalism and goals for what they want to achieve.
I know I can help the team on and off the park with my leadership and experience. I want to help grow the game and encourage young kids to play football. I'm looking forward to beginning this next adventure, meeting my teammates at training camp in Madrid."
Cahill has been a solid goalscorer despite his trailing age and his presence at Jamshedpur should surely help the youngsters within the squad gain valuable experience playing alongside him. At present, Cahill is expected to link up with the squad who are presently in Spain and he could feature for them when they face Athletic Madrid’s B team in a pre-season friendly. Thereafter, the side are expected to return to India in preparation for the league opener but Cahill is expected to play no part in that game as a result of the suspension incurred from his recent stint at Millwall.
During the backend of last season, Cahill was found guilty of violent conduct after he elbowed Fulham’s Ryan Fredericks during a London derby and he was thereafter banned for three games - out of which two were served with the south London club. The third one of those is expected to be carried forward to the Indian Super League according to FA rules thus making him unavailable for the curtain raiser at Mumbai City FC.
