Huddersfield Town boss heaps praise on Aaron Mooy after Wolves win
Huddersfield Town manager David Wagner has heaped praise on midfielder Aaron Mooy after he guided the club to a much-needed win in the Premier League. The Terriers found themselves bottom of the table heading into the Wolverhampton Wanderers game but they managed to dominate the proceedings with Mooy scoring both goals in a 2-0 triumph.

Speaking after the match, Wagner said that Mooy was ‘outstanding’ on the day and cited that his performance was ‘unbelievable’, considering he was playing for Australia down under only on Tuesday, he said: “He was outstanding today, like the whole team. He played on a very, very high level. Not only did he score the two goals but he looked so calm on the ball, in ball possession, and how he works for the team defensively is outstanding. Then, if you realise he played only on Tuesday in Australia, this is unbelievable what he has shown here. We are very happy to have him in our team.”
“Huddersfield were not given much of a chance of beating the Wolves on the road after the latter’s sublime performance at Arsenal before the international break.“ However, much to everyone’s surprise, the Terriers dominated the encounter with more chances and “this eventually saw them“ secure a much-needed triumph in their quest to beat the drop.
Next up, the Terriers are scheduled to face Brighton & Hove Albion on the road on Saturday and the game could offer another opportunity for them to jump further up the standings. Brighton have fared much better than Huddersfield during the first half of the campaign but their away struggles have been well documented and this should offer Wagner’s side with the motivation to secure successive league wins. Huddersfield are currently 14th on the league table with a two-point advantage over the relegation places.
