EVANS MIGHT BE BACK
The manager of Blackburn Rovers, Gary Bowyer, is optimistic about one of his experienced players Corry Evans getting match fit before the next match against Ipswich Town. That match will be played on the upcoming Saturday.
Evans had got injured while playing for the Rovers in their previous match against Brighton & Hove Albion.
That was not the first instance of a Blackburn player getting injured in the recent times. A lot of other Blackburn players have already suffered injuries at certain stages in the ongoing season and to some extent, these injury setbacks have affected the team’s performance as well.
Talking about Evans’ injury at the end of the game against Brighton, Bowyer said, “It’s been that kind of season for us. There has been hardly any match which we have gone through without somebody getting injured. All I can hope at this point of time is that Corry’s injury isn’t that serious. He is a very important player for us. He’s fantastic in this game too. I really want him to be available for the next week.”
The Rovers are currently in the top half of the Championship points table, but, they are not too far ahead of the teams below them in terms of points. So, a couple of bad results can take them down in the table.
There is no room for carelessness at all at this stage of the season for them. They have to play 7 more Championship games and they would like to perform well in all of them so that they can end up somewhere in top 10.
In the last season, Blackburn had finished quite low in the points table, at the 17th position to be precise. They had managed to secure just 58 points.
