AUSTRALIAN CLUBS STILL SHOWING INTEREST IN UNITED MIDFIELDER
There were reports in the last month that Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata will be leaving the club at the end of the season and the firmer Spain international star was starting to be linked to a couple of clubs both within Europe and beyond.
Clubs from England, the United States, and Australia began making initial moves about signing the midfield star as well. However, toward the end of May, it was reported that Manchester United were going to be keeping Mata as they look to have a few experienced players in the team.
The new report indicated that the Red Devils were willing to open new contract talks with the midfielder as they want him to sign a new contract extension at Old Trafford. However, despite that development, the clubs in Australia that are interested in signing him are continuing their chase and are still making efforts to find out if they can convince the former Chelsea man to continue his footballing career in Australia.
Some clubs in the United States Major League Soccer including New York Red Bulls, Chicago Fire, Los Angeles Galaxy, and Inter Miami have all shown interest in the midfielder and they have not stopped making attempts to sign him. Australian sides Western Sydney Wanderers and Wellington Phoenix are the two clubs from the country showing interest in the Red Devils star and they have already submitted proposals to him that they wish he can consider.
The 35-year-old is however keen to remain at Old Trafford and is expected to agree terms with the club on a new deal in the coming days. He will now be looking to be a key member of the United squad next season as they look to mount a title challenge against their rivals.
