Australia legend Jedinak announces his retirement at 35
Former Australia captain Mile Jedinak has announced his retirement from the game. The 35-year-old has put an end to hopes of making a major impact in the Australian A-League for one final time. The former Central Coast Mariners, Aston Villa, and Crystal Palace midfielder has not been seen on the pitch since May 2019. His retirement has been made official through a social media post. Regarded as one of the greatest Australian players in recent times, Mile Jedinak made a major impact with the national team in the world cups that they qualified.
After making his debut for Australia in 2008, he went on to make 79 appearances for the national team before announcing his international retirement in 2018. He has been unsuccessfully trying to find a new club since leaving Villa towards the end of 2019. As a youngster, Mile Jedinak came through the ranks at Sydney United before playing for the likes of Central Coast Mariners.
His rise in global football came when he made it to the Premier League in 2011 by signing for Crystal Palace. He spent eight years in the English top division as a result of featuring for Aston Villa as well. Thus, he became one of the successful Australian exports. His stellar career helped him pick up major titles like the A-League Premiership title and AFC Asian Cup. He was also named as the PFA footballer of the year in 2013-14.

It is now time for a new chapter,” said Jedinak on his Instagram account.
